Servicing your BMW is about two things – protecting your investment and keeping you and your family safe on the road. When having someone do this work for you, you want to be sure you can trust the work they are carrying out.
For over 10 years, SouthernBM developed a reputation of unmatched attention to detail and quality when it comes to maintaining all types of BMWs – from the classics of years gone by to the latest models on sale today – all without effecting your new car factory warranty. We are a fully independent BMW service centre and pride ourselves on being a genuine dealership alternative.
We offer a complete range of servicing options for you BMW including interim oil changes, vehicle inspection services, manufacturer log book servicing and our enhanced service and maintenance program.
All newer BMW models are equipped with an on-board service monitoring system known as ‘Condition Based Servicing' or ‘CBS' that is displayed through the vehicle's iDrive system. This system actively monitors engine and other vehicle components for wear such as the oil life, cabin air filter, brake pad wear, condition of the brake fluid and spark plugs and informs the driver when maintenance is required.
While BMW's CBS system is a fantastic initiative, it typically pushes the distance between oil changes to well in excess of 25,000kms which, depending on a number of factors, can have some long term negative effects to your BMW's health. Our minimum recommended requirement for servicing slightly differs from the BMW schedule. We recommend a maximum distance of 15,000kms or 12 month between oil service so that we can keep your BMW safe, reliable and on the road for many years to come without any additional costly repairs due to excessive wear.
No matter the age or kilometres on your BMW, we treat every vehicle as our own and will tailor the service requirements according to what your BMW actually requires, keep you informed of all cost before carrying out any further work, and make sure we can keep you enjoying your BMW for many trouble free years to come.
Each year the technology in all new BMWs becomes more and more advanced and complicated. This progress as seen the implementation of numerous safety and driver aid features that have improved our driving experience out of sight. With such complex systems though, component failure can happen and when it does you need to make sure that you are taking your BMW to a specialist that has the right equipment, knowledge and dedication to ensure that the right solution is found first time, without excessive cost and time delay.
At SouthernBM, we use only the latest and most up to date diagnostic, coding and programming equipment which enables us to get to the bottom of any issues you might have as quickly and efficiently as possible. We also have access to the latest test schedules and techniques from both Australia and overseas for all types of electrical or mechanical diagnosis.

The braking system in your BMW is one of the most critical safety components thus it is essential that you have the stopping power you can rely on to avoid any potential accidents.
When it comes to your braking system we only use the best products available on the market. We are one of Australia's only ATE Platinum BrakeCenters and also offer a large range of Genuine BMW braking system components.
ATE Original Brakes offer full braking power instantly with no fading, low heat transmission to prevent pedal failure and optimum comfort behaviour to avoid squealing and brake judder. ATE offers over 150 different brake pad compounds to ensure that you have the right product for your BMW. Independent tests have confirmed the outstanding friction values of ATE Brakes, time and time again.
Brakes must of course ensure vehicle safety; that's their main job. ATE brakes can do more than that with a growing range of ATE Ceramic Brake Pads. Ceramic pads produce an absolute minimum of brake dust so your BMW's rims no longer need to be painstakingly cleaned and their value is permanently retained. As tests have proven, ATE Ceramic Brake Pads last significantly longer and reduce wear and tear on the brake discs – this reduces costs and heightens satisfaction.
ATE Brake Fluid is perfectly matched to your BMW's individual application. Viscosity, boiling point, pressure behaviour, they all interact perfectly to allow the brakes to react quickly and reliably – for every vehicle and every application.
The driving dynamics that makes your BMW the 'ultimate driving machine' demands a lot from your tyres so regular maintenance is essential. Incorrect tyre pressures, out of alignment suspension systems and damaged rims can all be factors contributing to poor handling performance.
Even a monthly check of your tyre pressure can see you add thousands of kilometres to their life. We offer a complimentary wheel inspection and top up service so you can always be sure on the condition of your tyres.
When it comes time for your tyres to be replaced we stock a large range of quality tyre brands such as Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental and Dunlop and use only the latest fitting and balancing equipment. Our state of the art Beissbarth Wheel Alignment equipment allows us to ensure your BMW's alignment remains within the factory BMW settings or we can make adjustments for customised suspension set ups. A correctly set up wheel alignment will lessen the chance of abnormal tyre wear which will not only improve the handling of your BMW, but also save you money and improve fuel economy.
As the only connection between your vehicle and the road, it is very important that your BMW's tyres are in the best possible condition to ensure you get to your next destination safely.
