VS-5RX FEATURES
DESIGNED FOR TODAY'S PERFORMANCE
Real Performance means designing the best solution possible, without compromise. SUVs and EVs have consistently evolved to be faster and handle better, but they have also grown progressively heavier. That calls for a stronger wheel with a higher load rating to keep up. The VS-5RX utilises APEX’s motorsport-proven technology to provide a true performance upgrade in a remarkably lightweight wheel that is packed with subtle features that strengthen and support the immense weight and power of modern SUV and EV applications.
Often over 11 lbs lighter than many OEM counterparts, the VS-5RX’s weight savings make this wheel a true game changer in the SUV and EV category. Shaving approx. 45 lbs of unsprung rotational mass off an SUV or EV vastly improves acceleration, braking, handling, and even fuel or charge efficiency.
Almost all VS-5RX fitments feature OEM tyre compatibility, making it truly a plug-and-play performance upgrade for your SUV or EV that does not require shopping for different tyre sizes.
FLUSH, NO HASSLE FITMENTS
The forged VS-5RX was engineered specifically for these fitments, which allowed APEX to design it from the ground-up to deliver an aggressive look with maximum concavity, have massive brake clearance, and provide a flush fitment without the hassle of modification or spacers.
STIFFER SPOKES
Wheel stiffness is a critical performance metric that too often is ignored. The redesigned spokes of the VS-5RX are about 25% stiffer than the Sprint Line version.
TOUGHEST INNER LIP
The VS-5RX utilises the same inner lip as APEX Enduro Line motorsport wheels, placing material and strength where it matters most.

REINFORCED FRONT LIP
With the same outer lip as the APEX Enduro Line, the VS-5RX uses extra material in the front lip for improved strength and durability. You can easily spot the beefed up design of an Enduro spec lip vs. the lightweight lip on a Sprint Line wheel.
10K TONS OF PRESSURE
To make APEX forged wheels as strong as possible, a 10,000-ton forge is used. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminium by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.
TRUE MOTORSPORT BLANKS
Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. APEX designed their very own blank profiles from scratch to give them total control over the final product.
SIDE-MILLED SPOKES
One of the most prominent features of the VS-5RX is its extra wide and deep side-milled spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Not only does this offer a stunning visual characteristic, it dramatically decreases weight.
WEIGHT OPTIMISED
APEX conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to reinforce high-stress areas and remove material where it did not improve strength. The result is a significantly stronger wheel with a minimal weight penalty over its RS counterparts.
INDEPENDENTLY TESTED
APEX does not rely solely on computer simulations or unverifiable in-house testing. The company considers independent testing critical to protect consumers in this unregulated industry. The VS-5RX is independently tested by ITS at their Michigan facility, following JWL standards but pushed to much higher loads and much longer durations.
3D SCANNED BRAKE CLEARANCE
At APEX, every wheel fitment is tailored to its specific application. Utilising in-house 3D scans, VS-5RX wheels are designed to clear the often massive OEM brake calipers of performance SUVs and EVs while maximising concavity.
DEEPER CONCAVITY
The new APEX forgings were redesigned to create extra deep, concave spoke profiles. Their new shape allows APEX to make any profile, from flat to deep and everything in between. Each one is optimised for a specific application using 3D laser scans of factory and aftermarket brake kits.
BUILT FOR IMPACT SOCKETS
Track wheels need track tools. Don’t settle for wheels that require undersized tuner lugs or thin walled sockets. All APEX wheels accommodate over-sized race lugs and impact sockets to make swapping wheels lightning fast.

OUTER LIP POCKETING
A lot of areas get extra thick when the load rating is raised to 2100 lb. By CNC machining ‘pockets’ between each spoke, APEX's engineers were able to further reduce weight from an area that has a high impact on rotational inertia.
LASER ENGRAVED SPECS
As track enthusiasts, APEX knows how frustrating it is to try to locate and decipher wheel specs that have been hastily hammered into the rim or become unreadable over time. The Forged Enduro Line wheels have laser-engraved specs on the barrel, in plain sight, making them easy to find and read.

HUB CENTRIC
All VS-5RX wheels are purpose built for select vehicle applications. Very few applications require locating rings.
CENTRE CAPS
The majority of VS-5RX wheels come with a gloss black cap included that is interchangeable with the OE cap. APEX also offer additional colours for select fitments.
WHEEL HARDWARE
Wherever possible, APEX wheels are designed to be used with OEM mounting hardware as well as high-quality wheel spacers, stud conversion kits, wheel locks, and more.
TPMS
All APEX wheels are compatible with both OEM and aftermarket Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), as well as standard-fit valve stems.
