Whether you want a richer, deeper M tone or a full, unmistakable performance roar, this system transforms the character of the S68 engine without sacrificing daily comfort or refinement.
BMW’s 2024 LCI update left many owners wondering: “Where did the M sound go?” The new S68 exhaust note is significantly quieter from factory — but dAHLer has brought it back. Designed in Switzerland and handcrafted in Germany from high-grade stainless steel, the dAHLer system unlocks a sharper, fuller, and more motorsport-inspired V8 soundtrack. At low rpm, the tone remains composed and suitable for everyday commuting, while in Sport/Sport+ — or with the optional exhaust valve control module fully opening the valves — the exhaust awakens into a powerful, expressive M growl worthy of a flagship M SUV. All of this comes with no drone or discomfort, even at highway speeds.
Equipped with a high-flow valve-controlled muffler, precision-engineered piping, and optional valve control and secondary cat-delete pipes for even more sound, the system integrates seamlessly with the factory valvetronic setup. It maintains complete OEM functionality while elevating the exhaust experience far beyond stock. In fact, the exhaust, valve controller and secodary cat delete combination boosts volume to as much as 100 dB and adds up to 20 hp, delivering the sound and response the S68 should have had from factory.
After extensive real-world testing on the latest X5M and X6M LCI models, the result is one of the most complete, satisfying, and transformative exhaust upgrades available for BMW’s M SUVs.
