The E36 M3 Eventuri Intake has been meticulously developed to optimize airflow efficiency while maintaining low intake temperatures. Central to the design is Eventuri’s patented Venturi housing, which integrates directly with the MAF tube. This integration removes unnecessary junctions and establishes a continuous, laminar flow path from the filter to the M3’s intake plenum.

Where conventional cuboid airboxes and generic aftermarket systems generate turbulence and pressure losses, the Eventuri system maintains consistent velocity and pressure, maximizing volumetric efficiency. Intake temperatures are stabilized through thermal shielding and direct alignment with the OEM cold air feed.

The outcome is a marked improvement in throttle response and mid-range torque, along with sustained power delivery across the rev band — achieving performance gains without compromising drivability.

The E36 M3 Eventuri system uses Eventuri’s patented carbon-fibre housing to provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the engine. It is not merely another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that leverages the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the engine. 

This intake has been independently dyno tested by Dream Automotive in the UK. Tests were carried out back to back against the stock airbox, with multiple runs taken for each configuration. The best results from the stock airbox and the best from the Eventuri system were then compared. The dyno results show a consistent gain throughout the RPM range, attributed to the smoother pathway through the intake system to the intake plenum. On the road, this performance gain translates to increased part-throttle and full-throttle response, with the car pulling far more eagerly to the redline.

The filter housing consists of Eventuri’s bespoke Generation 2 filter, an aluminium inlet cowl, a carbon pod with shielding, and an integrated MAF tube. The carbon pod encloses the reverse-mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow toward the plenum. This is a key aspect of the intake design, as the tortuous flow path of the OEM airbox has been removed, significantly reducing pressure loss throughout the system.

The MAF sensor connection has been repositioned to be less visually obtrusive while still operating within the same parameters as the OEM system. Finally, the housing incorporates heat shielding around the filter opening to prevent heated engine-bay air from entering, ensuring intake air temperatures remain controlled.

Eventuri’s patented filter housings feature a smooth reduction in cross-sectional area as they shroud the filters and taper down toward the tubing. This geometry invokes the Venturi effect, accelerating the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. The bespoke filters further support airflow through the housings, helping to maintain an even velocity profile as the air exits the system.
