Eventuri intake systems use a Patent Pending carbon fibre housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect.
The BMW E39 M5 Eventuri intake is designed to offer a complete solution as an upgrade to the stock airbox system. The goal was to develop an intake system for the S62 engine that works with the stock ECU map and MAF sensors while delivering a genuine improvement in the driving experience. With Eventuri’s patent-pending Venturi housing, airflow is kept as laminar as possible. Additionally, the inclusion of a true cold-air feed — achieved through scoops integrated into the front fog lamps — results in the lowest possible inlet air temperatures. The outcome is an optimised intake system that provides consistent and noticeable performance gains.
THE EVENTURI DIFFERENCE
The E39 M5 Eventuri system uses Eventuri’s patent-pending carbon-fibre housings together with their bespoke Gen-2 filter, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the inlet tubes. This is not merely another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that invokes the Venturi effect.

DYNO TESTING
The standard airbox draws air from behind the front bumper, resulting in a long flow path that introduces drag into the system. Additionally, the cuboid shape of the airboxes creates turbulence where the transition to the circular MAF tubes occurs. The Eventuri system replaces these airboxes with Venturi housings that transition far more efficiently to the circular MAF tubes, maintaining laminar flow.
The filters draw air from a shielded area of the engine bay that is saturated with cold air supplied by the integrated foglamp scoops. By keeping inlet temperatures low and improving flow-path efficiency, the engine is able to produce more power. The dyno graph below shows a comparison between the stock airbox and the Eventuri intake system on a standard car with the factory map and exhaust. All dyno runs were performed back to back on the same day with the hood closed.
PRODUCT DETAILS
CARBON INTAKE HOUSING ASSEMBLIES
The filter housings consist of high-flow filters, aluminium cowls, and the carbon pods themselves. The carbon pods shroud the reverse-mounted filters and smoothly shape the airflow toward the MAF tubes. This smooth reduction in cross-sectional area invokes the Venturi effect, accelerating the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. The design functions like a large velocity stack— illustrated below in a diagram comparing the patent-pending housing to a conventional intake system. Eventuri’s bespoke filters further support the airflow through the housings, helping maintain an even velocity profile as it exits the system.
FOG LAMP DUCTS
To supply the intakes with cold air, Eventuri designed replacement foglamp surrounds with integrated ducts. The cold-air entry area has been maximised within the constraints of the surround’s shape and size, and the duct transitions into the supplied flexible neoprene tubing. While the car is in motion, ambient air is forced into these ducts, which channel airflow through the neoprene tubes directly to the intakes. This ensures the intakes avoid heat soak and allows the engine to draw air at ambient temperatures.
