DYNO TESTING

Below is a dyno graph comparing the Eventuri intake with the stock airbox on a stock E60 M5 running the factory map. The stock airbox tested is the Euro-spec version with charcoal delete and Euro filters, making it less restrictive than the U.S. version. The results show increases in power and torque across a large portion of the RPM range, not just at peak. This improvement is immediately noticeable on the road, with the car feeling sharper and more eager, even through the mid-range. All testing was conducted on the same day, back to back, with temperatures monitored to ensure consistency.

Dyno testing was carried out on a Dyno Dynamics DS450 Dynamometer. For accuracy, all tests were matched based on:

• Inlet air temperatures (via the in-built IAT sensor in the MAF, accessed through OBDII).
• Ignition timing (kept consistent, as timing can vary significantly between runs).
• Engine temperatures (coolant and oil).
• Exhaust gas temperature.
• Two consistent runs recorded for each test.

• Test 1: Stock car, stock tune, stock intake system with Euro filters (charcoal delete equivalent).
• Test 2: As above, plus Eventuri upper intake scoops.
• Test 3: Stock car, stock tune, full Eventuri VAi kit.

PATENTED FILTER HOUSINGS

The Eventuri E6x M5/M6 V2 intake filter housings utilise Eventuri’s patented Venturi technology while also incorporating the MAF tube section for a seamless flow path. The carbon housing encloses the reverse-mounted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow toward the MAF tubes, where the volume is gradually reduced. This smooth reduction in cross-sectional area invokes the Venturi effect, accelerating the airflow while maintaining laminar conditions. The design functions like a large velocity stack—illustrated below in a diagram comparing the patented housing to a conventional intake system.

BESPOKE CONE FILTER

The filter selected for this system provides an ideal balance between filtration area and overall filter-housing volume. By using a shorter cone, Eventuri was able to optimise the housing shape for improved airflow toward the MAF tubes while still maintaining more than sufficient filtration area for the required CFM levels. The filter medium is ISO tested to ensure filtration performance consistent with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter incorporates Eventuri’s signature flow cones to support the Venturi housing principle.

EPDM COUPLERS

By extending the housings further toward the plenum, the OEM flexible hose had to be replaced with Eventuri’s own version to maintain the required flexibility. The EPDM couplers are internally stepped, just like the OEM components, to create a smooth path between the housings and the plenum.

AIR SCOOPS

Laser cut from aluminium and then powder coated, there are 2 scoops which located behind the front nose grills and another 2 which locate in the lower brake ducts. The front scoops are curved to smoothly direct ambient air into the stock ducting which then displace heated air from the intake area. The 2 lower scoops direct ambient air directly into the mouths of the intakes.

HEAT SHIELDS

There are 2 aluminium heat shields with neoprene lining. They locate on the engine side of each intake and effectively deflect hot air from the radiator - especially when the fan comes into operation.
