ABOUT KW DDC ECU COILOVERS
KW DDC ECU Coilovers combine adjustable ride height with electronically controlled dampers, adding adaptive suspension to compatible vehicles without factory adaptive damping.
The system replaces the original springs and dampers with a matched KW package, allowing you to refine the stance and handling while changing the damping response directly from the driver’s seat.
COMPLETE KW ELECTRONIC DAMPER CONTROL
The DDC ECU system includes a dedicated KW suspension control unit, vehicle-specific wiring and an interior control button. These components work together to operate the electronically adjustable KW dampers.
DDC stands for Dynamic Damping Control, while ECU refers to the supplied Electronic Control Unit. This provides the control system needed to retrofit adaptive damping to a compatible vehicle.
COMFORT, SPORT AND SPORT+ MODES
The supplied KW DDC button lets you select between three damping settings:
Comfort: prioritises a more relaxed ride for everyday driving and uneven roads.
Sport: balances responsive handling with road comfort.
Sport+: provides a firmer response with greater emphasis on body control.
The settings can be changed from inside the vehicle without tools or access to the dampers. In Comfort mode, the KW control unit also adjusts the damping characteristics in response to driving speed.
This provides flexibility for daily commuting, longer journeys and spirited road driving.
OPTIONAL APP CONTROL AND PERSONALISED SETTINGS
Adding the optional KW WLAN module enables wireless control through the KW DDC App on a compatible smartphone.
The app allows front and rear axle damping to be adjusted separately within KW’s defined range. Personalised settings can then be saved, providing further scope to tailor the suspension to your preferences.
The WLAN module is an optional accessory; the supplied interior button operates the three preset modes without it.
ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT
KW DDC ECU Coilovers allow continuous ride-height adjustment within the kit’s specified range. Threaded adjusters let you fine-tune the lowering to suit your preferred stance and wheel and tyre combination.
Ride height is adjusted mechanically during suspension setup. Selecting a different DDC mode changes the damping response while maintaining the chosen height.

STAINLESS STEEL INOX-LINE CONSTRUCTION
KW’s inox-line stainless steel strut housings provide corrosion resistance for regular road use.
Combined with composite adjustment collars and dirt-resistant trapezoidal threads, this construction helps maintain the function of the height adjusters over time.

KW DDC Plug & Play is designed for compatible vehicles with factory adaptive damping. Its dampers connect to the original suspension electronics and retain operation through the factory interior controls.
KW DDC ECU adds adaptive damping using its own KW control unit, wiring and interior button. It provides a retrofit solution for compatible vehicles without factory adaptive damping, with optional app control for further personalisation.
Both systems combine adjustable lowering with electronically controlled KW dampers. The main difference is whether the suspension uses the vehicle’s existing adaptive damping controls or a dedicated KW control system.
