ABOUT KW VARIANT 1 (V1) RACING COILOVERS
KW V1 Racing coilovers combine adjustable ride height with factory-preset damping developed for track use. As an entry point into KW’s motorsport range, they suit drivers who want a dedicated racing suspension with a defined damper setup.
Each application is developed around the vehicle and its intended use, bringing together the springs, dampers and operating travel needed for the demands of the circuit.
PRESET DAMPING FOR TRACK USE
KW sets the compression and rebound damping during development. Both remain fixed, giving the suspension a consistent damping characteristic without the need to adjust damper settings.
This approach suits drivers entering motorsport and racing series that favour a controlled suspension specification. It allows the focus to remain on driving and chassis preparation while relying on KW’s application-specific damper calibration.
DEVELOPED AS A COMPLETE RACING SUSPENSION
KW considers axle geometry, ground clearance, spring rates, suspension travel and wheel loads when developing each V1 Racing application. The result is a coordinated spring and damper package for the intended track setup.
Selected applications are developed for use with semi-slick tyres. The tyre specification and supplied components depend on the kit.
ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT AND MOTORSPORT CONSTRUCTION
Height adjustment allows the vehicle’s ride height to be set within the kit’s specified operating range.
Depending on the application, KW uses twin-tube or monotube dampers, with high-strength aluminium or galvanised-steel housings. Top mounts and the front and rear suspension configuration also vary by application.

KW V1 OR KW V1 RACING?
KW V1 coilovers are designed for road use, combining adjustable lowering with preset damping that balances handling and everyday comfort.
KW V1 Racing also uses fixed damping, but its spring and damper package is developed for track use. The distinction is the suspension’s intended purpose and calibration.
Choose KW V1 for a road car with adjustable lowering and a ready-developed damper setup. Choose KW V1 Racing for a dedicated track application where preset motorsport damping suits the build.
