FITMENT & REQUIREMENTS
Suitable for BMW F93 M8 Gran Coupe (Base, M8 Competition) models only. Refer to the model/variant list at the bottom of this page for full compatibility.
Electronic damping control must be deactivated. A deactivation kit is included.
Height adjustable on the front and rear axles (threaded strut housings).
Dampers are adjusted by easily operating adjustment wheels. Rebound is only adjustable if the top of the piston rod is accessible. This will depend on the vehicle construction.
Variant 4 / Variant 5 struts / shock absorbers made of aluminium or axle-wise combined of aluminium and stainless steel.

ABOUT KW VARIANT 4 (V4) COILOVERS
KW Variant 4 (V4) coilovers combine adjustable ride height with three-way adjustable damping for high-performance road cars. Separate controls for rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression provide greater scope to refine handling and ride quality.
Developed for each vehicle, the V4 brings KW’s motorsport-derived damper technology to everyday driving, with a setup that balances body control and the ability to absorb uneven road surfaces.
THREE-WAY ADJUSTMENT FOR MORE PRECISE CONTROL
The V4 allows three damping characteristics to be adjusted independently:
Low-speed compression: influences body support during braking, cornering and acceleration.
High-speed compression: influences the response to faster suspension movements, such as sharp bumps and road joints.
Rebound: controls how quickly the suspension extends after compression, affecting body movement and ride behaviour.
Low-speed and high-speed refer to movement within the damper. This separation lets you refine body support and the response to sharp impacts individually.
KW VALVE TECHNOLOGY
KW’s TVCLH-A compression technology provides separate low-speed and high-speed adjustment. Its valve design allows controlled body movement while accommodating the faster suspension movement caused by abrupt surface changes.
TVR-A rebound technology adds independent rebound adjustment, giving you another way to refine the balance between comfort and control.
Together, these systems provide a wider range of setup options for matching the suspension to your driving preferences.
VEHICLE-SPECIFIC SETUP AND ADJUSTABLE LOWERING
KW develops the V4’s basic setup for each vehicle, supported by testing on its seven-post vehicle dynamics rig. This provides an established starting point for further adjustment.
Continuous ride-height adjustment allows the stance to be tailored within the specified range. Damper materials, reservoir arrangements and top-mount configurations are selected for each application.

KW V3 OR KW V4?
KW V3 provides independent adjustment of low-speed compression and rebound damping, offering substantial control over road handling and ride quality.
KW V4 adds separate high-speed compression adjustment. This gives you an additional way to tune the suspension’s response to sharp impacts alongside its support during braking and cornering.
Choose KW V3 for adjustable road performance with two-way damping control. Choose KW V4 where available if you want the additional tuning flexibility of three-way damping.
