The SPL BMW G8x Tension Rods (TR) provide a wide range of front caster adjustment, allowing precise alignment for improved turn-in response and compensation for left-to-right caster variances. Low-friction, smooth-articulating FK spherical bearings replace the factory rubber bushings, delivering a sharper and more responsive steering feel. Anti-dive geometry can also be fine-tuned using the supplied stainless steel spacers.
These components are engineered for maximum performance. The 2024 aluminium alloy hex rods are CNC-machined and gun-drilled to reduce unsprung weight while maintaining exceptional strength and stiffness. SPL Parts’ exclusive 360-degree Rotating Clamp design offers easy access for quickly and accurately locking in alignment settings. Blue-anodised titanium hardware further reduces unsprung weight and provides outstanding strength.
FK Bearings rod ends are manufactured in Connecticut, with the JMX series offering an upgraded hardened rod end for superior durability. Each rod end features a Teflon liner that ensures quiet operation, low friction, smooth articulation, and eliminates bushing deflection under load. The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race, providing high load capacity and excellent wear characteristics. With an operating temperature range of –65º to 325ºF, these rod ends deliver exceptional reliability for both street and track use.
