Suitable for BMW 6 Series E24 Coupe (628CSi, 633CSi, 635CSi, M635CSi) models only. Refer to the model/variant list at the bottom of this page for full compatibility.

Facelift models (from 05/1982).
Height adjustable on the front and rear axles (threaded strut housings).
When using original tyres, wheel offset spacers may be required.
Original struts need to be sent in advance for modification.
Coilover kits where the strut housings are being modified are only availible in galvanized finish.
All vehicles manufactured after 05/82 require rear axle dome bearings: (BMW Part No.: dome bearing 33 52 1 126 987 + spring pad 33 52 1 117 671 + sealing washer 33 52 1 118 480 + washer 33 52 1 125 651 + plate 33 52 6 762 325).

ABOUT KW VARIANT 1 (V1) CLASSIC COILOVERS
KW V1 Classic coilovers bring modern suspension development to classic and modern classic vehicles. Combining adjustable ride height with vehicle-specific, factory-preset damping, they improve road handling while preserving the character that makes these cars enjoyable to drive.
The springs, dampers and installation components are developed for the application, providing a coordinated suspension upgrade suited to the vehicle’s original chassis design.
MODERN DAMPING FOR CLASSIC CARS
Tyre construction and suspension technology have progressed considerably since many classic vehicles were introduced. KW’s Classic programme applies current development methods to these older platforms, helping the suspension work more effectively with modern road tyres.
The aim is a more composed driving experience, with improved body control and road holding alongside comfort suitable for regular use.
VEHICLE-SPECIFIC PRESET DAMPING
KW determines the compression and rebound settings during development. Both remain fixed, providing a balanced spring and damper setup without requiring manual damping adjustment.
This follows the familiar V1 approach: KW establishes the damping characteristics for the vehicle, while you retain control over the ride height.
ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT AND DEDICATED HARDWARE
Continuous ride-height adjustment allows the lowering to be tailored within the kit’s specified range. This provides flexibility to refine the stance around your preferred wheel and tyre combination.
Hardware is matched to the original suspension layout. Selected Classic applications include complete front struts with forged steering knuckles, removing the need to modify the original strut assemblies.

FROM KW V1 TO KW V1 CLASSIC
The standard KW V1 combines adjustable lowering with a preset damper setup developed for each vehicle. KW V1 Classic carries that same principle into KW’s suspension programme for older cars.
The development centres on adapting the springs, dampers and installation hardware to the classic chassis. Where required, newly manufactured components allow modern KW suspension technology to work within an older suspension layout.
V1 Classic continues the V1 philosophy, bringing its straightforward adjustment and coordinated damping to classic car ownership.
